Extra Credit: Reflection.

This year in english has been a lot of fun. The class was never boring and I always look forward to it in my day. I think that my favorite assignment this year was either the blogs because they were really easy and I like typing more then just plain out writing with pencil and paper or the movie assignments. I really liked making the movies, they are a lot of fun and then entertaining to watch! My least favorite assignment of the year would probably be all drawing assignments. When were had to draw for Animal Farm and then Odysseus's journey was not fun for me because I don't like drawing, plus I am bad at it. Over all I really enjoyed this class and all of the extra credit opportunities were very helpful, like this one. :]

O Brother Where Art Thou.

One thing that I thought was funny in the movie was when Pete gets turned into a frog by the sirrens. I thought this was funny because it was very comical how Delmar was scared for Pete and how he wouldnt let him get away from them. Also he was protective of Pete when the cyclops stole Pete and squished him, Delmar thought that Pete was then dead. After Pete was "dead" Everett thought he was going crazy because e kept seeing Pete where ever he looked. Over all, I like the movie.

Epic Simile.

Waiting to hear your named called to see if you make the next cut is like everything put in slow motion for hours and hours, the feeling that you are sick to your stomach because you are so nervous.

Mice and Men Project.

For the Mice and Men project I am making a movie with Katey, Jamie, Whitney and I. Right now we are not standing in a very good position from what I know. We have not really started planning anything yet all together. I think that we might all have our own plans in our heads but we have not shared the yet. We all deffinatly need to get together and start on the project! One thing that could get in the way with making the movie is finding a day and time that we can type it and then put it all together. It is going to take a while to make it but I know it will turn out just perfectttt!

Extra Credit.

I really like Romeo and Juliet, but I like the book more then the movie even though it's more confusing because you get to picture things your own way. In the movie I don't like how that right after Romeo drank the poison Juliet woke up from her 42 hour trance to basically see Romeo die and then kill herself. I like that how in the book they don't get to see eachother, well Romeo gets to see Juliet "dead" but then kills himself and then when Juiet wakes she does see Romeo dead and then kills herself which makes the book more interesting.

My favorite part of the play is when Romeo and Juliet first meet. I love how it is described and it really makes you think about how much they fall in love the first time they basically see each other which is crazy! How the diolouge is written makes everything seem more romantic and more sincere. Over all I really enjoyed reading that part.

Video.

This video reminds me of Romeo an Juliet because Bella does not want Edward to leave her. The song that is in the back round is abut them seperating which makes everything more sad. Romeo has to leave Juliet because he got banished from Verona and had to leave her hoping that they would see each other again. Bella is hoping the same thing but hers come true and Juliet's doesn't.

This picture remids me of Romeo and Juliet when they meet for the very first time at the party. I pictured in my head Romeo and Juliet really engadged with each other but a little hesitant to do anything. I also could see them locking eyes and taking in the moment together. In this photo I can see that and it looks like they are in love with each other. The only thing I don't see is Juliet in not what I pictured at all, she didn't have blond hair and her hair was down. Altogether I really like this picture and I think it potrays Romeo and Juliet pretty well.

Romeo & Juliet Act 2.

In act two the scence that stood out to me was the last one, when Romeo and Juliet get married. While they are there Friar tells them that something bad is going to happen, which is forshadowing for the rest of the book where Romeo and Juliet both kill themselfs. This affects the characters because they will both die and thier families will still go on hateing eachother. I think this will affect the characters thinking because they might start wondering what the bad thing could be and get all worried about something that does happen later on in the future that they don't know about yet.
If I was in the same situation as Juliet or Romeo I would probably be thinking about what Friar Lawrence meant when he basically said that something bad was going to happen. At the moment I would ignore him but after a while of talking it over with myself I would start to really wonder. I think in the end I would forget about what Friar said and try to be happy with Romeo or with Juliet, putting everything eles behind.

Characters in Romeo and Juliet.

From what we have read so far in the book I would have to say that I picured Juliet different then how she is protraed in the movie. When I think of Juliet I think of a younger looking girl with pale soft skin and long wavy brown hair. I also see her with blue eyes. She is really shy and timid but at the same time she's not. If I were to meet her I think she would act shy at first and then become more interesting.

I think that if I were to compare a character in the book so someone I know it would have to be Benvolio and my Uncle Tom. Benvolio is always trying to keep the peace and helping out where he can. My uncle is a lot like that, he always is fixing things to make them better and to keep everyone on the family getting along all the time. They both do thier best to keep the peace.

Premonition.

The last time I can remember having a "premonition" was in seventh grade. I had the best 12th birthday ever after going to Emerald Downs and when I got home my present from my mom was getting my room re-done! I was in love with it! I couldn't believe that I actully got this because I wanted it so bad! My mom was talking about it little time it took and that it was just done that day that I had my party.

That night as I was thanking my mom for my room and telling her about how much I love it! I can remember telling her that I never wanted to move because I didn't want to have to first of all switch houses or change my room from how it was; it was perfect! After that my mom said to me that she couldn't promise that. All of a sudden, I got this gut feeling that we might be moving in a little but I tried to shake the feeling away. About a week later my mom told my brother and I that she was getting remarried and that we were moving! I was so mad and new that this would happen. But now everything is okay because I still love my new room. :)

Shakespear's stories.

In the movie She's the Man there is a mistaken identity and a love triangle. This girl wants to play soccer and so she goes to a college that only has a boys soccer team. She changes everything about her, her hair, voice, look and style to pretend to be her brother so she can play. She ends up falling in love with one of the guys on the soccer team/room mate and he is in love with her sister which in really her. There are also many other love triangle in between these.

I think this plot realates to Shakespear's A Midsummer Night's Dream because both of the guys love Hermia and not Helena but Helena still loves Demetrius. Then after a confusing path everything works out how it should be, everyone of them loving the right person. It ends the same way as She's the Man because the girls finally revels that she is not a guy and then the guy that she loves falls in love with her back.

Winter Break.

This winter break I had a ton of fun including the three extra days we got! I think one of the funnest days I had over winter break was when my friend Ashley stayed the night at my house. It was snowing really hard all day and all night. We were cooped up in the house all day watching CSI and so finally we decided to go beg my mom if we could ride the quad in the snow. It took a while but she eventully gave in. Ashley and I got the quad out of the garage and when we were ready to turn it on and go, it got stuck in the snow. My mom said "make sure it doesn't get stuck in the snow" right before we brought it out and that is exactly what we did. So, I didn't know what to do so we tried pushing it, which didn't work. We tried one person on and the other one pushing it, that didn't work either. Right about then everything just sucked. After about 20 minutes of sitting aropund pouting about the quad being stuck we tried again. I got on and told ashley to get realy to push when I say so, "okay, one, two, three!" and off I go! It was such a relief! The quad took off no problem. We drove around on it for about an hour in my yard and around the house. I was infront driving and she was in back holding on for dear life. It was a blast. We even drove to a little coffee shop by my house to see if we could get hot cholcate but it was closed so that was a bummer. Anyways that day was really fun and something I will not forget.
